I didn’t pause at any of the in progress steps for the final piece, partly because i spent a lot of time completely unsure of where I was going and also exhausted because I’d erased hours of previous work. Like, in between that colour sketch and my final underdrawing, I did a whole proper perspective sketch of the castle and started to complete it before realising that I’d basically killed the overall composition, so I had to scrap like 3 hours of work and start over. It’s always tempting to give up when something like that happens, but I’m clinging pretty tightly to any *action* pictures at the moment because I really want some for my portfolio. (Also I was really attached to the colour scheme for this one.) In the end it’s still nowhere near as dramatic as the original thumbnail, but I am pretty happy with it anyway 🙂
